New Year/Lunar New Year
Everyone has traditions/beliefs right?
People may agree or disagree with you.
In our culture, our country or let me simply say family are very much influenced or they are having beliefs.
Especially Chinese.
They are really a strong believer especially when it comes to luck.
Here are some of the thousands beliefs:
*wear a polka dot shirt for new year
*Prepare 13 circle fruits (make sure the seeds aren't black in color). It is 13 because there are 12 months in a year and there must be an extra month for a goodiee good luck
*Jump on New Year! You'll be tall-ER! So, shawties come and jump!
*When the clock strucks make sure you're wallet is not empty and your pocket too.
*Never waste money on January 1.
*Be Happy=)
etc.
Oh Yea, it's hella funny because I have a Korean friend and according to her, January 1 for them isn't really that important because their "new year" is based on the lunar calendar. For 2009, their lunar new year is on the 26th of January. In the Philippines, we also spend the so called lunar new year. Specifically the Chinese basically it's the Chinese New Year. I was amused and it was fun though.
It's great to hear that not everyone in the world spends new year togethah!
